What happens when the Bride’s mom is a wedding planner? Not one, but TWO, engagement parties with the most amazing vision to capture the style of the happy couple and utilize fall splendors! The bride dreamed of a celebration that would have inspiration from Kate Spade with a fall undertone and a menu of chilly weather comfort foods. Also, she wanted pops of plaid to acknowledge her Scottish heritage, especially since her MeaVona engagement ring was created by a Scottish designer. Meanwhile, the groom wondered how they could possibly talk to everyone given their large families and groups of friends. We designed the “Fall in Love” engagement party for their new clients, aka my daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law. And, we scheduled the evening to separate out an early dinner with our family then a bonfire party with friends later in the evening. We knew the ideal place for this celebration: their very own backyard and century barn. This was the perfect setting for a fall engagement party with plaid, pumpkins, and vintage items! Kate Spade pink, chocolate brown and rose gold was the primary color palette and complemented the natural wooden barn. The Father of the Bride, aka my husband, constructed a bar with a hot pink top and painted rose gold on a salvaged hutch for liquor shelves. He carefully cut out wooden letters that he painted rose gold to add to the walls.
We are excited that this engagement party was featured on The Perfect Palette!
